What a year it has been for Stony Brook Rush U17 and Amityville High School player Josue Martinez, who was recently named the small school Player of the Year, by the Suffolk County Boy’s Soccer Coaches Association.
Martinez, called the “catalyst” for the State Class A champions, in an article by Newsday ended the year with 11 goals and 12 assists for the Amityville team. He also sealed the team’s win for the state championship with just 3:30 left in the game that would give Amityville it’s first state boys soccer title.
The Amityville senior has also been named to Newsday’s All-Long Island boys soccer team for 2015. Additionally, Martinez has been honored with All-State, All-County, All-Conference and Nassau vs. Suffolk All-Star player. See Martinez's interview with Fios 1 here.
