Mark Nash has been with Stony Brook Soccer Club since 2003. Mark took over as Academy Director in 2010 and eventually moved into the role as the Travel and Girls Director of Coaching in 2012. Mark's coaching career began more than 25 years ago as an assistant to his brother's youth team, where he gained a passion for coaching under some excellent mentors, who were highly qualified with the English Football Association & UEFA accreditations.
A keen amatuer soccer player through his youth and adult life. Mark started to gain his coaching qualifications in his early twenties when he had the priviledge of visiting the Ajax Academy when on a soccer tour, and getting to see and learn from some of the best coaches in Holland was prompted to gain his FA Level I & II Coaching Licences.
Since arriving in the U.S. Mark has attained his NSCAA National and Advanced National, and his USSF 'C' & USSF 'B' licences. In 2012, Mark was recognized by ENYYSA and won their 'Coach of the Year', in recognition of his team's successess, style of play, sportsmanship and positive impact of the lives of the players he was coaching.
Alongside this, Mark worked as a coach with Sue Ryan at Stony Brook University Women's Soccer program and is currently on the Region I ODP staff as well as a Coaching Liasion for the USWNT Training Centers.
