Honoring our Volunteers at the 2nd Annual Dinner Dance
At this years Soccer Dinner Dance, we took a step back to reflect on the great volunteers that have helped shape our organization. On behalf of the Committees, Sponsors, Volunteers, and especially the children, we thank you for everything you have done to grow and support the Three Village Soccer Club and Stony Brook Travel Teams.
Lifetime Achievement Award – Susan Deverna
At this time we would like to give out our second annual Lifetime achievement award. The person who we honor tonight is special in every way. When she first started as the registrar of The Three Village Soccer Club. There were no computers and every child was registered by hand using index cards. Every parent in this room who has a child that has played for the Three Village Soccer Club and who has ever registered a child in the Three Village Soccer Club has had their child registered By Susan Deverna.
In past 30 years this amazing individual has registered more than 40,000 kids in her years of service to the club and has been here through the reign of seven presidents. She has been here almost from the beginning when we didn’t have our existing facility. As Susan is still a very important part of the Club as she still sits on the Board of Directors as head of Registration. Her children have all played for the club at one time and now she has the great privilege of watching her grandchildren playing here as well. Tonight we honor Susan Deverna for her outstanding service and dedication throughout the years and for her love of our community.
Special Thank You to our Past Presidents
In recognition t
o years of service to the Three Village Soccer Club and Stony Brook Travel Teams, the Events Committee presented three of our past presidents with special “Past Presidents” club jackets. Receiving the jackets were Mike Witover president from 1983 – 1987; Chris Siemes president from 1983 – 1984 and Mitch Pally president from 1994 – 2004.
Special Award to a “Friend of the Club” Councilman Steve Fiore-Rosenfeld
Jason Witover represented the Three Village Soccer Club in presenting Councilman Steve Fiore-Rosenfeld the “Friend of the Club” award. Thank you Councilman Fiore-Rosenfeld for your continued support!
